9th Animal Η Video/Action for Saffron Σ
[Well, someone is out of their element.
When Reid turns on his communicator, he's sitting outside the little place on the outskirts of Saffron that he rented with Mio. He's sitting on the grass with a bag (full of things he bought for his Pokemon) tossed to the side, and he's besides a clutch of three multicolored eggs--nestled among those eggs is a Ponyta without any kind of flame, struggling to stand up.]
Uh, hi? I'm, uh--I mean, for those of you who don't know me, I'm Spencer. Dr. Spencer Reid.
[Reid stands up and hesitantly approaches the Ponyta. Gingerly, as if it's a live bomb, he rests his hands on its chest and stomach, trying to help it stand.] I've never really handled horses before? If--I mean, if there's anyone in the general area of Saffron who knows something about it, then I'd really--
[FOOM OH CHRIST THERE'S FIRE
Reid jumps back with a yelp when a bright mane and tail bursts into life, flaring blue and proud and looking terrifying despite the horse stumbling back to its knees without Reid's support. It all looks very impressive and Reid is just going to AVOID TOUCHING THE FIRE KTHX.

And then one of the eggs besides the flaming pony, a purple egg with a scary face, starts to hatch. And in the corner of the screen, a blue lavender-tipped tentacle reaches over and grabs Reid's bag, dragging it away.
Reid is busy eyeing the flaming pony warily, so he's caught completely by surprise when his scary purple egg hatches and OH GOD IT'S A DINOSAUR THAT IS SO COOL BUT DAMN THOSE ARE BIG TEETH
A baby Aerodactyl, at least the size of Reid (that's one big baby), spreads its wings beside the kneeling Ponyta, sending pieces of egg everywhere, before starting to beat its wings and letting out a terrifying shriek. And right now, it's eyeing Reid like a snack.
Reid instinctively backs up, and then the screen is suddenly covered with a white glow from all the various Pokemon that just found the evolution stones Reid had in his bag.
The Ponyta lets out an angry whinny when the dinosaur whacks it with a furiously beating wing. A Mismagius and a Chandelure fly over them, howling and chattering, and the Aerodactyl lunges for Reid, only to be knocked out of the way by a Ninetales. The baby dinosaur snaps at the fox, trying to go for the throat, but it's still too weak to withstand Elle. Reid stumbles over, fumbling with his belt of balls, when he's hit in the head by a soaring Musharna. He stumbles again, holding his head, and behind him, the Mismagius and the Chandelure are taking turns swooping in and pinching the sides of the baby Ponyta. The Ponyta neighs furiously, trying to get on its legs so it can kick one of the giggling bastards, but it's still too weak and its trainer is too busy being dizzy and trying to get the homicidal dinosaur under control to notice the torment.
Why did Reid think getting a goddamn menagerie was a good idea?]

Well, I'd like to say I count as an expert here, but honestly, I know about as much about Ponytas as your average human would know about an ape or monkey-
[Buuuuut she's cut off as the reset of the Pokemon begin to hatch and evolve. The more sudden flashes of white she sees, the wider her eyes get and the more worried her expression becomes.]
Dear Celestia... Spencer, are you going to be alright?

Ah...I'm not in Saffron, but I know a thing or two about horses. In fact, I own a Rapidash, so I would be more than happy to assist how I can... I've noticed that yours also bears blue flames rather than red...If you'd be willing, I'd like to perhaps study it a little. Well...when I say I, I actually mean we, seeing as it would be hard for me to study it on my own when we're in separate towns like this.
Um. I might be able to help with baby Pokemon in general, if you feel you need any assistance. Feel free to get back to me when you're able, I'm in no rush.
[[And you will obviously need a little recoup time.]]

You'll want to get your Aerodactyl under control first, or at least keep the rest of your Pokémon away from it.

Or it will make said horse nervous. [Then white flashes create a bit of a blinding experience he weathers because of his shades. On his end, he makes a whistling sound calling Lady B over to him and pets her nose. Snoop the dragon nudges against his side and he gives another nose scratch to the dragon.]
Actually holy shit man, get the whole crew under control.

But Mio has the video on for only a few seconds before she's completely succumbed to helpless laughter. She lays her head on the table, shoulders shaking silently.
SORRY REID BUT IT JUST HIT HER HOW CRAZY BOTH THEIR LIVES HAVE BECOME. THIS MIGHT BE SOME MIND OF PEYCHOTIC BREAK.
Or she just really can't handle you right now, so laughter's the way to go.]

A Ponyta with blue flames? He had never seen that before.
And then a dinosaur was on the loose? He can't even with this world anymore. He just can't.]
... I believe your Ponyta is the least of your worries at the moment, but is there anything specific you wanted to know? [Actually, the fire mane warrants mentioning now.] As a tip, the flames apparently do not burn once it accepts you.

Crow was just heading back to the city center after the usual training session -- a day like every day, really -- but hearing some commotion nearby caused him to stop in his track and search for the source of the noise.
Needless to say, finding out what it was has left him rather awed. It's not a common occurrence to watch eggs hatching, Pokémon evolving and all that other shit happening all at once. Kind of reminds him of some of the mornings with his adopted kids back when they lived together in Satellite (except the kids can all stand on their own legs just fine and none of them has ever tried to eat Crow, of course). Good times.
The duelist tilts his head while watching the scene, smirking a bit to himself. As if mimicking him, the Murkrow sitting on his shoulder does exactly the same.]
Having fun?
[He knows he is.]

[Needless to say, she'd been happy to see him pop up on the network and had hit 'Reply' almost instantly, perhaps intending to make some more terrible drinking suggestions, when...]
... Whoa!
Holy crud!
[As a long-time Ponyta-owner, it's safe to say the sight of a BLUE one is... uh... unexpected.]
I can-- uh, well, I'm no expert with horses [Considering she's scared of her own.] but-- ... uh. Ooh.
Ow.
Um.
