CHARACTER INFO
Name: Spencer Reid
Gender: Male
Source: Criminal Minds
Canon point: At the end of Season 7. Reid came home to find SBurb in his mail after Heathridge Manor, and Garcia encouraged him to check it out, even going so far as showing him how to set up an account on Pesterchum (not that she had ever used Pesterchum before—she’s just good with computers). After JJ’s wedding in Run, Reid was too hyped up with general good cheer once he got home to go to bed, so he finally started investigating SBurb to pass time and wind down. The rest is history.
Age: 30
Colour: #2E9AFE , or light blue.
Chumhandle: loquaciousGlycemic

History: Here’s a wiki link!
Personality: Spencer Reid is a genius. That is the first thing you'll ever know about him. He has an IQ of 187, an eidetic memory, and can read 20,000 words per minute. He loves learning, and can prove it with multiple BA's and several PhD's. Because of his amazing intelligence, he skipped several grades and graduated high school when he was twelve, and he was bullied viciously.

Most geniuses in fiction lord their intelligence over others and look down on those with average intelligence. Not Reid. He was beaten down very thoroughly growing up--while his mother loved and encouraged him, she was schizophrenic and unable to help him cope with the bullying. He never learned how to keep his mouth shut--he still loves spouting trivia and sharing his knowledge with others--but the bullies did make him start believing that he wasn't really worth much. That notion was cemented when his father abandoned him and his mother, and that caused a massive abandonment complex in his son.

Because of all this, Reid is uncommonly humble for someone so intelligent. He's very aware that he's usually the smartest person in the room, but it doesn't always seem important to him, and he's capable of accepting that other people can think of things that he doesn't. He's good at working in a group, and despite being very socially awkward, he's a pleasant person to be around. He's a very kind man who likes helping others, but he doesn't really like having the spotlight on him. He gets nervous when a lot of people pay attention to him.

Beyond his humbleness, though, Reid is very special because of how he can see the good in people. His suffering (and he’s had a lot) polished his heart instead of hardening it, giving him a gift of empathy and kindness when it could have made him callous. It takes him a while to love a person because he's afraid that they'll leave him, but once he does, he always sees the best of them. He knows that they have flaws and he's aware that they're there, but he doesn't really see them. He always sees the reason that he loves them, and he has the capability to see them at their best even when they're at their worst. When he loves, he loves with his whole heart, which makes it especially painful when he's betrayed somehow.

That's a major disadvantage Reid has. When he's hurt, he's hurt. He'll withdraw and deny and pretend that there's nothing wrong, but he trusts the people he loves (and honestly, those people are restricted to his mother and his teammates) wholly, and it causes real damage if one of them hurts him. Because of that, he can hold grudges, and once someone gains his trust and then betrays it in a significant way, it can be a very, very difficult road to forgiveness.

Because of his difficulty dealing with social situations, he often depends on his own mind to keep him company. 'It's lonely on the top' very much applies to Reid, because except with his teammates, people generally avoid interacting with him because his intellect is so intimidating and his habit of spouting tangentially related trivia can be off-putting. Because of his mother's schizophrenia, he's painfully aware that his mind may not be as reliable as other people assume it is, which leads to his biggest fear being that he inherited his mother's illness. His mind is the only thing which has remained true to him through all his hardship, and the concept that it could utterly fall apart is absolutely terrifying to him. That affects him because if something happens to cause him to doubt his own sanity, he will freak out. He's spent too long being afraid not to.

Possibly because of his abuse at the hands of peers his whole life, there are times when he exudes an aura of vulnerability that attracts abusers like flies. This becomes less frequent as he becomes more confident with himself, but there's a pattern of unsubs (the serial killers he tracks for a living) specifically targeting him when they could target anyone else on the team. This happens professionally, so it probably also happens personally. My headcanon is that he has a history of moderately abusive (and by that, I mean emotionally abusive, not physically or sexually) romantic relationships (which leads him to be wary of relationships, but that's a story for another time) that he always eventually cuts off, because despite the aura, he does have an aggressive side.

Reid is passive by nature, but if he feels it's worth it, he knows how to dig in his heels and say 'no'. An angry Reid is a very scary thing to behold, and he can and will get angry at people who he feels deserve it, such as teachers who told a boy to get over it when his father and peers ruthlessly abused and humiliated him, or at a man who sexually abused his daughter and then submitted her to electroshock therapy to shut her up. Even if he's kind and humble and passive, he's very brave and has a powerful sense of what is right and what is wrong, one that drives him to do remarkable things, such as in one instance when a killer intended to murder an ER doctor who refused to operate on the killer’s dying son, and Reid threw himself between them as the killer, using his body as a shield and getting shot in the leg, and then still using his crippled body as a shield for the doctor before managing to shoot the killer, and then telling the doctor to tend to the dying man and not to his leg. He’s skinny, he’s quiet, and he’s meek, but he is above all else, a defender.

He will approach a man in the middle of a homicidal psychotic break and try talking him down, or lock himself in a house with anthrax when he knows he's already infected and won't allow his teammate to suffer the same fate, or even talk to the father who abandoned him nearly twenty years prior. He's strong enough to crush an addiction to Dilaudid all by himself and keep himself from relapsing for seven years. He's brave enough to continue hunting down serial killers after getting captured and tortured by one. He's resilient enough to be able to smile and see the good in people after leading a life full of abuse, blood, and misfortune. He's all these things, and that combines to make an amazing man.

Not that he'd ever realize it on his own, though.

Abilities & physical limitations: He’s not supernatural in any way, and he’s not a particularly physically gifted man. He’s stronger than he gives himself credit for, but that’s not saying a whole hell of a lot, and his ability to run quickly outmatches his ability to fight by far.

As for limitations, he was once shot in the leg, so while you won’t see him limping everywhere, it bothers him in cold, humidity, and prolonged activity or stillness.

Appearance: So pretty that a fellow actor described him as ‘almost a girl’. Seriously. Look at this.

There is a reason why he’s got fangirls.

Strife Specibus: Gunkind. Keep it simple, he says.
Prototyping: Unfortunately, when the kernel sprite showed up, he was holding the file of one Tobias Hankel because he was looking through papers he had in his desk, and in shock, he threw the file at it. It’s now prototyped with the file of a criminally insane spree killer. Afterwards, Reid prototyped it with his Ide of Orunmila, stabilizing his sprite, but the damage was done.

The files cause some imps to have three heads that shout at each other: one angry and violent head, one cold and cruel head, and one meek and sad head.

Title: Empath of Darkness

In-game abilities: At low levels, the Empath is a support role, and a pretty crappy one at that. It’s good for minor healing, but instead of straight healing, the Empath just transfers damage done to (or even emotions belonging to) others unto itself, and since it has low health at first, it’s an ability that should only be used in a pinch. Along with that, the Empath knows the condition of both allies and opponents in battle, and thus can be used to direct better healers towards the most damaged allies and to direct the healthy allies to the weakest opponents. Outside of battle, the Empath can tell the physical and emotional conditions of others regardless of outward appearance, but that’s mainly restricted to knowing basic feelings (such as whether someone is sad or angry or glad) and broad physical condition (such as whether someone is dying or has status boosts).

But the Empath is one of those roles that becomes exponentially more powerful with more levels. At high levels, the Empath has resilience against the damage it takes from others, and thus can be used as an effective healer, and it can transfer damage and emotions from itself to others. Thus, the Empath can take on the damage done to allies in order to boomerang it at the opponent, although this makes the Empath a huge target and, due to its low physical defense, it needs to be protected. It’s a complete glass cannon, in other words. Outside of battle, its powers are more fine-tuned and it is capable of holding psychic conversations through the use of sending mental images, sensations, and emotions between itself and another, and it can send emotional messages over long distances.

Due to being the domain of Darkness, the Empath can feel and know the heart and mind of any evil creature without being lost in it as others would be. Despite intimate contact with darkness, the Empath will maintain unchanged.

Planet: The Land of Blood and Knowledge is actually beautiful in its own horrible way.

The ground is mostly smooth, warm rock, cracked in some places where ivy grows out and clings to black and grey cliff faces, giant succulent red fruits growing from them. The fruits are edible, and their seeds can be used to make opium while the ivy leaves can make a very delicious tea. The river runs with blood, and the blood speckles the ground, making the whole world smell coppery and metallic, but strangest of all, every single surface is covered with tiny shimmering gold print, constantly moving and changing, making everything seem like it's ethereal and twinkling. It takes a powerful intellect to concentrate on the words and make them stop moving long enough to read, and one could spend millennia learning all the things the words have to teach.

If one gazes into the blood rivers, they will see flashes into the worst of humanity, and has the potential to teach a person about the darkness in their own hearts, and about the potential ruin that darkness will lead them to. Consorts usually use the insight in order to conquer said darkness and give themselves peace of mind.

The consorts are actually very shy creatures that only appear once they’re probably observed that a person won’t hurt them. They’re balls of bluish and yellow light, about the size of a grapefruit. When touched, they’re very warm, and their light hides a soft, fuzzy core. If you’re nice, one might follow you home and light up your house as an organic lamp that makes soft, soothing purring sounds.

The Denizen, a massive spiderlike figure named Raphael, descended upon LOBAK back when it was a cleaner place, when it was known as the Land of Prophecy and Knowledge and the prophetic blood was not rivers but a lake at the northernmost part of the planet, which someone was only allowed to go to after years of mental preparation to avoid trauma. Raphael destroyed the lake, tearing open the very ground so that the blood would flow into the clean rivers, spoiling the drinking water and unleashing the horribly violent and mind-shattering images on all consorts across the planet.
