A slender hand comes down on the camera briefly, and then the Gear is set on a table, and it shows Spencer Reid (considerably more calm now than he was on Sunday) walking back to the bed, where a very cranky Absol sits with a Munna egg wrapped in a warm towel next to him.

Also, there's half a library's worth of books piled around the room. No, seriously, if you put them all in one stack, it'd nearly be Reid's height.

Absol makes a irritable grunting noise.]

I know, I know, but we'll go out for some fresh air soon, promise. I just need to get through some more of these.

[He picks up a brick-sized book seemingly at random, sitting down on the bed with his legs crossed before placing the wrapped up egg in his lap. In retrospect, he probably shouldn't have taken one before he knew what he was doing, but he doesn't really trust the textbooks here that much and wants to make observations of development by himself.

Yes, someone has started to consider the possibility that he's not completely insane. Since he might not be insane, he wants to learn about where he is, and he wants to learn everything.

He opens up the book and started fanning through the pages, as if he were trying to find his spot, but he doesn't stop. He turns the pages so fast that he can't possibly be reading them, so it's unclear what he's doing.]

Give me half an hour. We'll go out then. And if you really want to, I guess we can go into the woods and find something for you to fight.

[...No, he still hasn't noticed that Yang turned on the Gear. People who told him this wasn't a prank should feel free to gloat and say they told him so.]

Exactly. I'm running into problems there--I really haven't found anything in the books referring to something like a government or an economy at all. It's not even just that they don't have democracy--they don't seem to have any kind of ruling body. Yet the police are generally respected, order is mostly well-maintained, and I haven't seen signs of any kind of civil unrest or abnormally high crime rates. Somehow, everyone manages to have a middle- to upper-class standard of living, everyone who qualifies for one has a job, no one is concerned that the police could decide anything is illegal and put someone in jail since they have no written laws...

Really, I don't see how this could work unless the majority of the population were programmed robots or something.

They also somehow manage to have booming seaside cities without any ports, a nearly unlimited flow of goods without most of the artisans that make them, a single statute of limitations for everything from skipping work to attempting to murder the whole population of New Bark Town, a way of providing new trainers with supplies even without knowing that they'll stay long enough to repay that through purchases and services...

[Yep, someone's had time to see some of the cracks in the system.]

...And there was that first Halloween, where all the locals kept repeating the same sentences over and over again, losing any sign of individual personalities in the process. The word 'robot' came up often, back then.

Wait, why would they start doing that around Halloween?

[Reid shakes his head, crossing his arms.] Nothing about this world makes sense. How could they possibly sustain this flourishing economy and bare bones of a legal system? There should be high crime rates, poverty, disease... I haven't seen any of that.

I've no idea, but it was preceded by two weeks of stagnant air, and it came with alarming music, near instantaneous travel between towns, terrifying misshapen monsters and squa- err, pixels. It was a wonderful weekend.

[At least the ice cream still tasted like ice cream.]

...There was an outbreak of some strange disease a few weeks ago, not long after the Pokémon Centers were attacks. And we do get our share of crimes from Team Rocket. But I must admit that the lack of beggars surprised me at first.

That sounds awful. [Why would they ruin his favorite holiday? ;.; ] Does anyone know how that could have happened?

Someone must do, or at least must have, as we received a message telling us to leave this world at that time. But as for who that could be...

Who the hell would name themselves 'Team Rocket'?] No. I haven't heard of them.

That's a good question. It was written and anonymous, and whoever it was never manifested themself again. And with the people from that time disappearing over the last two years...

[Chances are they'll never discover who it was.]

Team Rocket is a local criminal group. They've been known to attack important landmarks, trainers... and they are also known to have arrivals from other worlds within their ranks. Not that those arrivals necessarily chose to join them.
