[Fortunately, among Carmen's many talents is apparently that of being the Dog Whisperer, and it's one that seems to have extended to the Johto wildlife as well. She may not be able to still a growling guard dog with a pat and a word the way she might've back home, but at least animals generally like and tolerate her, which is always a perk when dealing with an animal that could twitch its head and sever your hand at the wrist. It's a shame she doesn't have her own Absol on her belt today — not that Misty would be particularly hard to retrieve, if she really wanted to expend a few minutes to hop back to the Pokemon Center and get her — but Yang will simply have to meet her another time.]

I wasn't aware you could hatch a ghost from an egg when I first ended up with mine, but we learn something new every day. For what it's worth, my Haunter, Indy, went through a troublemaking phase of his own, but as he evolved he mostly grew out of it. [A pause.] Or rather, he learned that his tricks were a bit too amateurish to catch me in them, and had to step up his game with a fair amount of maturity.
