But for whatever reason, the world is glitching out around him in particular, and he somehow keeps finding himself landing in a tree. Or a cactus. Or an icy mountain face. Or a roof. Really, he's traveling around both Johto and Kanto, and he's getting a good view of every somewhat elevated surface out there.
So WHEREVER you are, there's the sound of asqueak yipe startled noise above you. And when you look up, there is a thoroughly frazzled genius sitting (or falling) about ten feet up.]

Alright. Yeah. I don't know where we are, but--yeah, any town should have a Center.
[Nope, not letting go of that hug any time soon. You have a Reid-shaped koala, Garcia. Congratulations.]

It's alright. We'll get things taken care of without any problems.

[He nods, but oh god. There are so many things he wants to say.]
You... When did you get here? I've been here for months, and I haven't seen anyone from back home in the BAU. I was starting to wonder if I ever would again.

[She's serious about it, because Reid is like her little brother. His second question throws her off though and it takes her a few seconds to come up with an appropriate answer.]
I got here a few hours ago, but I'm not sure how or why. All I know is Rainbow was here with me, along with a bunch of other poke'mon. It doesn't make any sense, given poke'mon is just a video game back home...
[How she has a slightly confused look on her face, but it's clear that Penelope isn't worried about it. Something about having mythical creatures to tame and be friends with is absolutely awesome.]
You don't have to worry anymore about it. At least we've got each other and we're not alone, right? Maybe the others will show up soon or maybe we'll get sent home?

How she can take this so well, Reid'll never know. He straightens up, but he keeps an uncharacteristically constant hold of her, as if she'd disappear at any moment. Which, in his view, she can.] Yeah. We have each other. And--I've made a few friends here that we have, and two of them are FBI, so--so we have a few people. I-I think you'll like them. [Except Albert, because Albert is an asshole.
And next...
He bites his lip nervously, staring at her shoulder instead of her face.] Garcia... [Deep breath.] Have I gone insane?
no subject
[She can take it so well because she's optimistic and in love with the very concept of this world: a distinct difference between her personality and Reid's So when she hears that he's made other FBI friends, Garcia can't help but smile.] Of course we're never alone, and I'm really happy to hear that you've made some good friends despite the hardships...
[The question makes her stop and get a little bit worried. In the moment, she pulls Reid closer, hugging him tightly.] No, no, no. You're not going insane, Reid. I think we've seen a lot of people who've gone that route in our line of work and you're not one of them.
no subject
Garcia, I've been walking around seeing biologically implausible creatures for three months. I've seen--things happen here that defy the laws of physics and there are... it just... It doesn't make sense. It doesn't make sense that it's really happening.
[He's learned how to function, but he still has that fear in the back of his head, that none of it is real. Garcia is the only one here who he knew before the potential hallucination started. If she tells him he's not in the middle of a psychotic break, then he might believe her.]
no subject
[She pauses, hoping her words made some sort of sense.] You have to be positive throughout it all, or otherwise all those questions are going to just drag you down. I know it's difficult given your logical nature, but you'll pull through like you have before. [And there's her familiar smile once more.]
Hopefully I didn't sound too silly saying all of that...

[He bites his lip and shakes his head. How could she understand? She, whose immediate family had been devoid of mental illness while she grew up?] I need to know I'm sane. If I'm not, indulging in fantasy will just make me worse. [More than anything, he wants to make sure he never becomes his mother.]
no subject
[Garcia can't fully understand Reid's background, so the next best thing is to try and coax him along and keep him sane.] What sort of proof are you looking for? I know for a fact that I'm here and awake and that nothing seriously weird has happened to my brain upon arrival. [She's almost hesitant to say something that'll make Spencer freak out even further, so she's giving him to opportunity to speak first. Maybe from his words she can figure out the correct solution.]
no subject
[Unless Garcia's a hallucination too, but that's a rabbit hole he doesn't want to go down. He's trying to logic himself into not believing he's crazy.
Garcia, just keep telling him he's not crazy. He trusts you. He'll believe it eventually.]
