4th Pokémon Caught Γ Text/Action for Violet City Χ

Can anyone possibly give me advice on how to train a Misdreavus and a Litwick? I caught them recently, and I'm having trouble making them behave.

[And by that, he means that they keep trying to eat his soul when he's not paying attention and/or randomly screeching to scare people. That on top of a baby munna with separation anxiety is really making it hard to do anything. As he types, Flora is clinging to his head, Missy is being pinned by Yang, and Nate is in his ball because he wouldn't stop snacking on Reid.]

Advice on Ghost- and Psychic-types in general would be appreciated, actually. I never took care of animals at home, let alone animals that are capable of consuming emotions, so I'm a little out of my element.

Also, I wanted to thank everyone who tried to help Flora two weeks ago. She's doing much better now, and Nurse Joy thinks that she'll be just fine.

Ah, well, for any pokemon that's misbehaving, sometimes a useful deterrent is to give them a clear warning, then recall them to their balls if they continue. Of course, that only works if they like being out in the first place... Similarly, try finding what, if any, sorts of treats they prefer, and have a supply ready to give them whenever you catch them behaving well.

...though, ghost types do tend to be more problematic than most....

I'm glad to hear about Flora.

Do you want me to talk to your Pokemon again?

Ghost types are not the best for beginners because they can become very problematic as their powers grow. Better Pokémon for newcomers are usually normals or bugs. [You're probably screwed, Reid. Sorry.]

You have a dark Pokémon though, and he may be able to help, as ghosts are weak to his type. I suggest leaving them in their balls or keeping them in the PC until you have enough experience to handle such Pokémon. If you're amendable to that, of course.

Psychics for the most part are intelligent enough to know when to back off. You'll be fine with them.

[Perhaps surprisingly, it's actually not the baby Munna with separation anxiety that first draws Carmen's attention to Reid as she roams around re-familiarizing herself with the streets of Violet City — no, it's Yang the Absol who actually ends up pinging her, partly because she happens to be a sucker for big cats, and partly because it legit seems like every single FBI agent in Johto is destined to someday possess one, and she happens to remember this one in particular from a day on the network several weeks ago.

Of course, back then Reid was surrounded by books, and not by rambunctious Pokemon.

With her Spinarak perched contentedly on her shoulder and her Kadabra hovering faithfully just behind her elbow, she pauses to observe Reid's predicament for a minute or two before walking boldly over, taking a trajectory that will keep her relatively out of his immediate line of sight until she's near enough to say hello.]

You know it doesn't count if I find you first, Dr. Reid.

[It feels like it's been way too long since he last set foot in Violet - and when he thinks about it, it's well over a year since he was there last. That said, it doesn't take too long for him to get familiar with the town again, and his Manectric recognises the streets as well; he lets her explore as she sees fit while his less excitable Espeon follows him closely as he just takes a look around.]

[And you know, Reid will naturally be a blip on his radar when he eventually spots him. LAW ENFORCEMENT BROS and so on, and even if Albert hadn't said to keep an eye out for him Coop likely would've recognised him either way.]

[The greeting is a wide smile, of course.]

Evening, Spencer!

[This guy is cheerful. Even moreso in person. HI]

[Gordon has no idea they're in the same city, and given Reid's horrible headache from last time, he'll stick to text.]

I'm not sure if I can help you with that. I've got a Psychic Pokemon, but I don't think it consumes emotions. How can you tell?
